…what it feels like to wake up in the morning, go downstairs to walk the dog, and see yourself on the front page of the New York Times Sunday Review, it feels fabulous.
So far, the hate mail has been surprisingly light, given how many potential readers there are. This is the only personal email I have received, and you have to have a kind of backhanded respect for someone whose commitment to trolling is so complete that they took the time to look me up here:

I looked it up on Wikipedia, and between the Sunday paper edition and digital subscribers, there are over 4 million potential sets of eyeballs, excluding multi-family households, which makes me thing fondly of those early blogging days, when we all clawed down readers one by one.
